Before asking a creator to record a closing line, open the intended destination and check whether the viewer can do what that line asks. Record the words in the video, the actual ad button or link, and the action available on the page separately. If they disagree, resolve the page or wording with the responsible person before treating the ending as ready.

Start with the action available after the link

Choose a next step that fits the assignment: viewing a product detail, comparing available options or reading how something works, for example. Then identify the exact destination that supports it. A working homepage is not enough when the video directs the viewer to a specific piece of information that the homepage does not provide.

TikTok recommends ending performance-ad creative with a clear call to action. That is platform guidance, not proof that one phrase will increase sales. For this exercise, agree one clear next step so the brand, creator and person configuring the ad can check the same promise.

Distinguish the destination you plan to use from the destination actually configured. Open the latter through the available preview or link and note where it leads, including any redirect. Check the relevant product, language and information without assuming that a page title or thumbnail proves the promised detail exists. Record anything that still needs access or clarification.

This guide checks the meaning of the next step and its destination. The related ad-preview guide covers whether the video remains visible around the advertising interface. A well-framed ending can still send a viewer to the wrong page.

Separate the video instruction, ad button and page action

  • Video: keep the exact spoken closing line and any text embedded in the export. Check that they ask for the same next step.
  • Ad setup: ask the media owner to confirm the actual interactive link or button and the options supported by the selected objective and format. Do not invent an available button label.
  • Destination: identify the page reached and the information or action actually available there. Check any relevant conditions before promising a price, offer or availability.

TikTok’s CTA documentation distinguishes fixed text from dynamic options that can use several texts; supported behavior depends on the setup. A creator should not be instructed to promise an exact button label, color or position unless the actual configuration supports that instruction. Where wording can vary, describe the intended action clearly and review the applicable configurations rather than relying on a guessed interface.

A button-shaped graphic burned into a video is different from the platform’s working link. TikTok’s misleading-content policy restricts deceptive nonfunctional interactive elements and inconsistent information between ads and landing pages, including products and promotions. Keep those limits attributed to TikTok. Completing this worksheet does not certify policy compliance or authorize a campaign launch.

The cover’s notebook, ribbon and arch are a visual metaphor for moving from a product to a destination. They show no real page, live link or completed action.

Work through a notebook ending before recording it

Imagine a fictional brand commissioning a notebook video with the closing line “See the available notebook sizes.” The brand has not yet settled the destination. The following rows are alternative invented situations, not observations from a real website, ad account or device test. No notebook sizes, stock levels or performance results are asserted.

Fictional ending and destination decision
Proposed ending and destinationQuestion to resolveNext decision
“See the available notebook sizes”; a page for the same notebook that presents its current size options.Does the configured link reach that page, and do the video instruction and supported ad button lead to the same task?Check the actual route and information before recording a resolved decision. The scenario alone is not a passed test.
Same line; a general collection page that does not show notebook sizes.Where would the viewer find the specific information promised? The website owner supplies a suitable destination, or the brand agrees a different truthful next step with the creator. Leave the size line unresolved meanwhile.
“Buy this notebook now”; a page that only collects launch-list registrations. Is purchasing actually available, or is this only an invitation to hear about launch?Do not promise an immediate purchase. Agree wording that accurately describes the registration, or wait until the intended purchase destination is ready.

For the collection-page mismatch, a useful note is: “The proposed ending asks viewers to see notebook sizes, but the planned destination does not show them. Please provide the page that will contain those options and confirm when it can be checked. If the destination will remain a collection page, let us agree a different ending before recording.” This asks for a decision without blaming the creator for a page they do not control.

If the brand instead proposes “Explore the notebook collection,” that line still needs a real collection destination and an appropriate ad setup. Changing words is not a substitute for checking the route. If the ending has already been recorded, agree any production change and its scope before requesting replacement work.

Fill the findings after inspection, not when the destination is merely proposed. Reopen the check if the line, embedded text, button configuration, link, product page, offer or availability changes. A page can change while the video file stays the same. Keep the earlier note identifiable so an old decision is not mistaken for a review of the new setup.

This is an alignment check, not a conversion experiment. It does not prove every device or automatic variation was examined, that the platform will approve the ad, or that viewers will take the action. Once the promise and destination agree, the brand can make its separate production and launch decisions.

How this fits UGC Stage

UGC Stage is an application in development connecting brands and UGC creators. Its planned collaboration workflow keeps conversations, references, files and feedback with the project. When available, that context can help both parties find the agreed closing line, destination reference and resolved change note. The check in this guide is a manual brand task in the advertising and website tools you use; it is not a promised link checker, ad manager or automatic approval feature in Stage. Join the brand launch list to hear when the application becomes available.
